Jiaqiang Li is a Chinese clarinetist whose playing balances technical precision with expressive warmth. He earned his Master’s degree in Music Performance from Utrecht Conservatory (HKU University of the Arts Utrecht) and continues to actively contribute to the music life in the Netherlands.
Alongside his performing career, Jiaqiang has extensive teaching experience both in China and the Netherlands. He has taught children and adults at different levels, sharing his passion for music with students of all ages. In his teaching, he focuses on building a solid technical foundation while encouraging creativity and joy in music-making.
Jiaqiang has collaborated with ensembles such as the VU Orchestra (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam), USConcert, and NESKO, performing at major venues including the Royal Concertgebouw Amsterdam and TivoliVredenburg Utrecht.
As a founding member of Trio Ex Ubique, he is committed to bringing chamber music into concert halls, community spaces, and nursing homes. He also participates in interdisciplinary projects such as Appeltaartconcerten and GroundBreakers, exploring the connection between music and broader cultural contexts.
Currently, Jiaqiang offers clarinet lessons in English (+Chinese).
